#16 - “No Rush”
Sherlock finished last night. What a season it was! I have said it before but will say it again, the use of Moriarty throughout has been so clever. From the first series, the first mention of his name, he was then there all along. Always somewhere at the back of your/Sherlock’s mind. Less than 10 minutes on screen in season 1 and yet his presence was almost unbearable. Unless it was his absence - at least if he was there, you’d know what he was up to.
Great portrayal of what the Professor would be like if he lived in our century and the perfect metaphor to terrorism. Always there even when he’s not. Scared of absolutely nothing not even self-destruction. And making everything and everyone look suspicious. Moriarty is the society we live in.
And the most terrifying thing about him is that somehow, he still manages to appear loveable. He can make you love him. Almost like an early 1920s horror movie where the monster had something so appealing. You would inexplicably be drawn to it and meet your fate. When death becomes attractive, that’s when you should be scared. Moriarty is horrifying.
